Blepharoplasty Ptosis is a surgery performed on the eyelids with deformation problems. The significant improvement provided by Blepharoplasty Ptosis makes it one of the most preferred operations in anti-aging cosmetic surgeries.

Why Does The Eyelid Deform?

The necessity of Blepharoplasty Ptosis arises when the eyelid loses its natural shape and elasticity by both genetic and environmental factors. These problems caused by thinning skin due to the aging process may also be seen in young people regardless of age. The causes of the problems in young people are as follows:

  • Excessive smoking and alcohol consumption
  • Sleep disorders – not enough or too much sleep
  • Poor Diet
  • Direct exposure to sunlight
  • Pollution
  • Unhealthy eating habits
  • Not Drinking enough water

All these factors may cause problems over the eyelids even though there are no other genetic factors related. As a healthy lifestyle has a huge impact on the skin, it affects the health and appearance of the eyelid as well.

How to Get Ready for Blepharoplasty Ptosis?

Getting ready for the Blepharoplasty Ptosis procedure is a process to determine anesthesia methods to use during the operation. Doctors explain what to expect during the surgery, pre and post-operation, and the methods they prefer to use.

In this operation, also known as outpatient treatment, general anesthesia is not required. Local anesthesia is applied to the eye area and it ensures that the patient feels no pain or aching during the operation.

How is Blepharoplasty Ptosis Procedure?

Blepharoplasty Ptosis Procedure is a known method for both upper and lower eyelids. However, the operation addresses the upper eyelid first.

A small incision is made on the area where the upper eyelid meets the eye socket. If there is excess fat in the area, first the fat is removed. However, if there is excess skin in the area, the excess part is removed. After performing the required actions, the area is closed by stitches. Depending on the duration of the procedure or methods, patients may need to stay at the hospital for a day or 2.

Doctors explain the necessary information such as what to expect during the recovery process and how often the controls take place, and it is important to be responsible about these issues.
